Easy chair designed by Andreas Hansen
Padauk frame, seat, sides and back upholstered with original black leather. Denmark, 1950s.
Height 75 cm, seat height 49 cm, width 83 cm, depth 81.5 cm.
This armchair is a unique piece, made for the exhibition that was organised in Copenhagen, in occasion of the 500th anniversary of the Upholsterer's Guild, in February 1960.
A furniture design competition was held and this very chair won the 2nd prize. Literature: “Dansk Kunsthåndvæk”, 1960. Ill. and mentioned pp. 62–63.
