Lost, 2021 by Georgia Fiennes (b 1979) oil on canvas presented in a bobble frame hand-painted in Little Greene's Cordaba.
Georgia Fiennes was inspired from an early age by the literary works of Edward Lear and Lewis Carroll, as well as the paintings of Beatrix Potter and Michael Sowa, she set out to depict wildlife in unexpected contexts in a variety of mediums. A degree in Fine Art and Illustration further cemented a narrative path with every painting telling a unique story.
As her style has developed, Georgia has focused solely on oils enabling her distinctive palette and buttery brushstrokes to fully evolve. Flora and fauna remain the beating heart of her work, harmoniously coexisting with her explorations into recognisable realities as well as the more abstract. Despite being displaced from their natural environments and often solitary, her subjects maintain a unified sense of belonging and resilience.
Georgia Fiennes is represented by Cricket Fine Art and Eastwood Fine Art and has exhibited regularly for over two decades. Her work is in collections around the world.
