Early C17TH English boarded oak chest otherwise known as a sword chest. Popular for their rustic simplicity - this is a useful smaller example with hand cut iron hob nails and an excellent dark even colour and lustrous waxed patina built up over 400 years. The top is split to one side (stabilised) and sits loosely on top (original iron hinges are present. Ideal for the end of a bed or a low side table.
