A large and impressive dug out tree trunk. The lower trunk of a tree has been hollowed out and then turned upside down - the roots of the tree now giving a wonderful decorative scalloped edge. A small piece of wood has been added to the underside to give it a base. There are lots of knots and gnarly bits to the wood which adds to its naturalistic form. Impossible to date precisely but clearly has plenty of age.
